network marketing team

Want to motivate your network marketing team to go out there and get results?

Here’s how to get your team fired up to bring in new customers, recruits, and rank up.

How To Get Your Network Marketing Team To Produce More

How much do you get involved with motivating team? Do you match effort for effort or just wish them well and be there for them?

Know Your Teammate’s Level Of Desire

It’s important for you to understand that people have different levels of desire. And, I learned this from good friends and coaching clients: Larry and Taylor Thompson.

There’s three main categories of desire inside network marketing:

  1. 80% of people are totally happy being part of the mission and making $0-$500 a month.
  2. 15% of people totally happy making $2,000-$3,000 a month.
  3. 5% of people want to make $25,000 or more per month.

So, there’re different levels of desire. Now, that is not, those percentages are not result-based. I’m not saying that that’s where they are. I’m saying that’s their level of desire.

For some of you, that sounds strange. Some of you are like, “Well, why wouldn’t you want to make more money?”

Because you’re NOT an 80-percenter. You don’t understand that way of thinking.

But, you need to understand that there are loads of people in any network marketing team that are super happy to be there, love it to pieces, whether they make money or not.

Building Your Culture

You need to have to a culture inside of your team that welcomes, embraces, high-fives, takes selfies with the people of all the different levels of desire, if you want to maximize your income, your impact, and the possibility of having someone that stays around the campfire long enough for them to increase their desire.

Can someone who has a goal of $0-$500 a month, and is totally happy at that level, can they catch a spark, and all of a sudden, want to make more money?

Of course. But, ONLY if they stick around.

You need to kind of analyze their actions. Are they happy at the event, high-fiving you, and they’re not really doing the activity? Well, maybe they’re just happy being on our ship and being part of the mission. Totally cool. Nothing wrong with that.

Who are you to tell them, “You shouldn’t be happy at that income level.” They may not be in it for the income. A lot of people aren’t.

Now, if you treat everyone like they’re just after it for the money, and they’re after it to kill it and make millions of dollars, you’re going to turn off a lot of people that would’ve stayed with you for 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, and been happy. You’re going to turn them off, and you’re going to make it seem like, “Oh, hey, you’re not supposed to be here.”

Motivating Your Team

As far as “motivating,” not a huge fan of that word, as funny as that may sound. I’m much bigger fan of “inspiring.” And you inspire people through your actions.

If you want to get your people doing more, you need to do more.

If you want to get your people fired up, you get fire dup, and you go do the activity you wish and pray that they would do.

YOU need to go rank advance, YOU need to go recruit, YOU need to go bring in new customers. YOU need to be welcoming people into the team on a consistent basis.

And then they will say, “Wow, they’re really on fire.  That’s kind of inspiring. Maybe I want to go do that.”

What NOT To Do

In the video below I share what you don’t want to do.

This is the trap that many leaders fall into, and then they self-sabotage, they fall to pieces. And they’re one of those would-be and could’ve-been top earners in network marketing, but they never make it, because they self-sabotage.
