If you are an introvert, this will help!
Here’s what you need to do in order to become a network marketing success and build a massive team.
Introverted? The Key To Becoming A Network Marketing Success
So, I took a fancy schmancy and very pricey personality test. It’s like a Myers-Briggs and DiSC test on steroids. But it tells you your natural personality and your adapted personality. My natural personality is an introvert.
I literally, I could probably go weeks without hanging out with anyone. Like not seeing a soul.
If you sit next to me ever on an airplane, I’m not gonna talk to you. I’m just letting you know. I’m gonna bury myself in an audio book or a book. Now, I’m nice and I care about other people’s feelings, so if you talk to me, I will talk to you. I’m not rude. So if you talk to me, I will talk to you. But, my voice in my head will say, “Hey, what’s happening?!?”
In the personality test I took, they call it “adapted.” So I have an adapted personality. And, if I was gonna be more precise, I would say I have a “mission-centric” personality.
If I go to a networking meeting, it’s a mission in my head. I can turn on my mission controls. I can flip some switches. They’re not natural for me, but I can flip some switches. If I’m going to a networking meeting, I can flip some switches. I’m just not that extrovert. I’m just not. But I am mission-centric.
So, if I’m going to an event, I’m gonna adapt to the environment that needs to be adapted to.
Being an introvert and success in network marketing have very little to do with each other.
Chances of Being Successful
I would argue that being an introvert increases your chances of success.
Now why would I say that?
I believe introverts have a better shot at network marketing.
There are more introverts than extroverts. Guaranteed. Just go to a party. How many people are the life of the party and how many people are gathered around the life of the party? Guaranteed, there’s more introverts than extroverts.
So, if you’re an extrovert, and you’re used to relying on your personality, your charisma, and your dance moves. If you are used to relying on your personality and charisma, you’re not as duplicatable as I am. You’re not as duplicatable.
Because I can understand the mind of the introvert, and I can get the mind of the extrovert. I can flip a switch, and be mission-centric, and be an extrovert for a period of time. For a period of time, not for an extended period of time (because for me being an extrovert is exhausting).
So after my three-day events, I retreat to a cave. I literally, I crawl into a cave and I roll a rock over the entrance, and I just kinda hide out in the cave. I’m telling you. Not that I don’t love the events, I love them. They’re awesome and powerful. They feed me. But when I flip the mission controls for that extended period of time, I have to go retreat.
If you’re an extrovert, you may say things like “Yeah, but I can’t do what you do. Yeah, but I don’t have your personality. Yeah, but you’re so charismatic, you’re so amazing.”
See, introverts won’t get that. They’ll say, “If you can do it, I can do it.”
