How to Attract and Recruit Strong MLM Leaders
It isn’t talent, it isn’t motivation. It isn’t even intent. Sometimes it’s timing and if you look at my situation, February 2006, I got involved in my first network marketing company and I was actually focused on real estate. I wasn’t focused on network marketing and so I did recruit. I recruited quite a few people but I didn’t invest the proper amount of time to actually become a leader inside network marketing. I didn’t understand culture, I didn’t understand community, I didn’t understand how to best run a team and inspire a team. I didn’t understand those things.
Why? Mainly because it was bad timing. Now if you fast forward to July 15th of 2009, I get invited to a home meeting. I’m in foreclosure, I’m dead broke, my back is against the wall. That was the right time and I ran hard. In five months, I’m at ten thousand a month, in seven months at forty thousand a month, in ten months at fifty thousand a month. Do over a million dollars in commissions with that company, become the number one income earner, it was the right time. Same person, different time. My back was against the wall. Now, I’m not saying everyone has to have their back against the wall because most people, with their back against the wall, crumble like crackers.
A lot of times, the people that need your thing the most are the ones that just won’t do it. They’re just not willing to do it. They crumble like crackers. The truth is, you won’t know. You won’t know who is going to come into your team and actually become one of the big MLM leaders. I have also found that the ones that tell you they are going to become one of your MLM leaders is pretty unlikely to do it, not sure why but talking about how big time you are going to be is usually the indicator that they will be exiting within a month. (sad but true)
