I actually have only been using Twitter for a few months but have almost 5,000 followers and I love to share tips on how you can grow and use Twitter to help you and your small business. Todays tip is how to bulk unfollow people who are not following you. Why would you bother doing this? Well, if you are trying to grow your twitter account one way you may use is following relevant people. You can do this through twitter search or through http://www.twellow.com. However, twitter does have limitations on how many people you can follow based on how many are following you. Your first restriction is you cannot get more than 1850 people you are following until your followers catch up, after that, you are limited to right around a 10% rule. So if you get to 4,000 people following you, you can only be following around 4,400. You will find that not all of the people you follow will also follow you, so why bother following them! Well, it is not an easy task to find out in a bulk fashion who you are following that is not following you and then to unfollow those that are not following you unless you use this tool here called Twitter Karma
Twitter Karma is a free twitter application that will tell you who you are following that is not following you, who is following you that you are not following (shame on you!) and allow you to bulk unfollow or bulk follow the chosen group. Pretty cool little application. You can use this to reduce those not following you so you can go out and follow more people that MAY actually follow you back.
