Mike was someone that was magical. He would make you smile no matter what kind of mood you were in and he ALWAYS made you feel special. He was probably the wealthiest person in about any room he entered but made everyone else feel like the rockstar.
I regret not spending more time with Mike. I am willing to bet you have Mike’s in your life. Spend time with them, don’t get so busy working in your own world to not take opportunities to spend time with those that make you feel special and that have wisdom you can learn from.
How to Improve Important Relationships
I recently got this advice from my friend Larry Benet, he said to reach out to people often just to tell you are thinking about them and to give them good wishes with no agenda. This stands out as so few people do this. When I heard this I immediately set a reminder in my phone that everyday at 11:45am eastern it pops up on my calendar and it just says “3 People”. At that time I stop whatever I am doing and I text or email three people that are important to me that maybe I just haven’t been able to stay in touch with as much as I wanted with a simple “Thinking about you” message.
This has resulted in some great conversations and I am sure the recipient felt good as did I.
Do this too and watch your happiness increase and your relationships.
To Mike: Thanks for being an inspiration and an example of how to treat others, you will be missed by me and many others my friend.
