Your warm market is not your team’s market.
That distinction matters more than most trainers will tell you, and Ray Higdon is not here to sugarcoat it.

Why Warm Market Falls Apart at Scale
Warm market works when you have strong relationships and real influence with your friends and family. But here’s the problem: not everyone you recruit has that.
Some people have great connections. Most don’t.
If you build your entire training system around warm market outreach, you automatically cut off 70 to 80% of the results your team could produce. You’re designing a strategy that only works for a subset of your people.
Posture Check: “If I’m growing a sales team and I say you can only talk to friends and family, I’m gonna miss 70 to 80% of the results I could have gotten if I would’ve taught them alternative methods.”
That’s not a training system. That’s a ceiling.
The Duplication Problem With Attraction Marketing
Attraction marketing gets a lot of praise, and it deserves some of it. Ray has used it to build a 400,000-person email list and generate tens of millions in revenue. It works.
But it is not easily duplicatable.
Think about what attraction marketing actually requires: consistent video creation, content strategy, audience building, platform optimization, and tools like GoHighLevel or ClickFunnels. Most new team members will not do all of that consistently. Expecting them to is setting them up to quit.
The question isn’t what works for you. It’s what your entire team can do.
Cold Market: The Most Duplicatable Method
Cold market gets a bad reputation in direct sales and network marketing, and Ray says it plainly: that stigma is earned because most reps are untrained and go straight to spamming.
The answer is not to ban cold market outreach. The answer is to teach it properly.
Posture Check: “Cold market is free. It’s unlimited. It’s the most duplicatable way. Doesn’t mean it’s my favorite way. But it’s the most duplicatable way.”
Here’s why cold market works at scale: it’s an even playing field. Every single person on your team has more people they don’t know than people they do know. That’s a universal truth. You can build a system around it.
You don’t need to be an attraction marketing rockstar. You don’t need a funnel. You just need to know what to say.
The Christina Danielle Story
One of Ray’s favorite success stories: Christina Danielle joined a company that actually forbade cold market messaging. Her warm market wasn’t interested. She didn’t want to do videos. She had no attraction marketing presence.
So in her own time, she started using cold market scripts. The result?
She became the number one recruiter in the entire company, four or five years in a row, outperforming influencers, attraction marketers, and every warm market rep in the organization.
She had no special advantages. She just had a system and used it.
Does It Work for High Ticket?
Ray’s answer: yes.
Last quarter he trained Christie Morgan in Australia on cold market messaging. She generated $100,000 in personal commissions using 100% cold market outreach, selling high ticket.
The method scales regardless of what you’re selling.
What You Should Actually Build
Here is the practical takeaway for team builders.
Teach cold market first. It’s the one method that every person you recruit can use immediately, regardless of their social media following, their personal network, or their comfort with video.
Do not abandon warm market outreach. Ray is not saying that. Reach out to your warm market when you genuinely don’t care if they sign up or not. That detachment is its own form of posture.
But the backbone of your team training? It should be built on a method that works for everyone.
Posture Check: “You are going to bring in people that don’t have a great warm market. What are you going to teach them?”
That question is the whole game. If you don’t have an answer that doesn’t involve great personal relationships or a built social media brand, you have a duplication problem.
Attraction marketing, warm market outreach, and cold messaging all have a place. But if you’re serious about building a team that grows without you, cold market is the foundation worth teaching.
