The Brutal Truth About Why Your Results Stay the Same

by | Jun 2, 2026 | Mindset & Resilience

You’re not stuck because of bad luck, a tough market, or the wrong upline.

You’re stuck because your comfort zone is working exactly as designed.

The Real Reason Nothing Changes

Here’s the statement that will either set you free or make you close this tab:

Your comfort zone is producing your current results perfectly.

That’s not an insult. That’s neuroscience.

As long as you’re waiting to feel like taking new action, you will keep getting the exact results you have right now. There is no motivational speech, no affirmation, no incantation that changes that equation.

Motivation does not precede action. Action creates motivation.

This is the part most people miss. They’re sitting around waiting to feel fired up before they prospect, before they reach out, before they build. But that feeling will never come first. It can’t. Not neurologically.

Why Your Brain Won’t Let You Feel Ready

Ray breaks down exactly why this happens, and it’s not just mindset talk. It’s biology.

Thoughts are the language of the brain. Emotions are the language of the body.

When you have a thought, it starts in the neocortex. If you accept it, it passes to the limbic brain, which releases amino acid peptides down the spinal cord, hitting the adrenal glands. That’s what creates the feeling of emotion.

Here’s the kicker: your body only craves what it’s already been doing.

If you come home, grab a beer, and watch TV for four hours, you will crave that routine. Your cells are chemically wired to want it. That’s not weakness. That’s just how the brain works.

So if you haven’t been prospecting, you will never wake up one day and suddenly feel like prospecting. That’s neurologically impossible.

Posture Check: Stop waiting to feel ready. The people getting results aren’t more motivated than you. They just started before they felt like it.

The Two Mistakes Keeping You Stuck

Mistake #1: Waiting for the feeling.

You keep delaying action until you feel inspired. But the feeling only comes after consistent action. Day one is the hardest. After 21 days of showing up, you’re wired differently. You actually crave the work.

The window you think you don’t have? If you work 8 hours and sleep 7, that’s still four to six hours a day. Two focused hours of the right activity can build something significant. But only if you start before you feel like it.

Mistake #2: Going too hard too fast.

You watch a motivational clip and decide today is the day you go all in. You pour every free minute into your business. Three days later you’re burned out, and a week later you’ve quit entirely.

That’s not discipline failing. That’s inertia being ignored.

Small actions build momentum. Big swings out of nowhere burn you out. You don’t go from couch potato to four productive hours overnight. You don’t have to.

The Fix: Break the Pattern, Build Inertia

You don’t need a complete life overhaul. You need a pattern interrupt.

If your habit is to drive straight home and decompress in front of the TV, try this: stop at a coffee shop first. You don’t have to buy anything. Open your laptop. Read for 20 minutes. Work a lead for 20 minutes.

That’s it. That’s the whole move.

You won’t feel like it. Do it anyway.

If your goal is to get in shape, don’t commit to a two-hour workout. Just commit to showing up. Lace up your shoes and walk through the door. Once you’re there, you’ll probably do something.

Posture Check: The smallest action of change builds inertia. You don’t have to overhaul everything. You just have to interrupt the pattern once.

Here’s the thing about “comfort zone” that trips people up. Some people hear it and think Ray is saying they’re comfortable with their life. They’re not. They’re struggling. They hate their situation.

But they’re still waiting for motivation before they move.

Comfort zone doesn’t mean you like where you are. It means you’re comfortable with the routine that keeps you there.

And the routine will keep producing the same results, with perfect precision, until you break it.

Start Before You’re Ready

The results you want are sitting on the other side of action you haven’t taken yet.

Not more information. Not a better script. Not a new strategy. Action. Specifically, the action you’ve been putting off because you don’t feel like doing it yet.

You won’t feel like it today. You won’t feel like it tomorrow. But if you do it anyway for 21 days, something shifts. Your brain rewires. The craving changes. You become a different person.

That’s how Ray went from making calls on his breaks at an insurance company to building one of the most recognized training organizations in network marketing. Not because he felt like it. Because he did it before he felt like it.

Your results aren’t a mystery. They’re a mirror. Change the actions and the mirror changes too.

If you want to get better at closing the people you do reach, start with skills. Posture, Persuasion & Closing the Sale is a free 90-minute training that will show you how to stop chasing and start leading every conversation.

But none of that matters if you’re still waiting to feel ready.

Start today. Start small. Start before you feel like it.
