Stop Confessing What You’re No Longer
Here’s a game-changer: a negative mindset establishes your inability. When you say “I can’t do it,” “I’m no good,” “It’s too big,” or “We’re not strong enough,” you’re confessing to something you are no longer rather than who you really are.
Second Corinthians 5:17 is clear: “if you’re in Christ, you are a new creation. The old has passed away.” All that old thinking about not being enough, not being worthy, never making it – those are memories from a corpse. That person died when you accepted Christ.
You’re literally a new species that didn’t exist before the cross. Stop being lazy, disorganized, or attributing negative traits to your “old nature” because it’s dead. You have a new nature, and you need to start confessing in line with it.
The Enemy Loves Your Defeat Language
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” When you speak defeat, guess who agrees with you? The enemy is right there saying, “That’s right! You’re not enough. You’ll never make it.”
But here’s the truth: you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens, empowers, and enables you. There isn’t anything you can’t learn, and there isn’t anything you can’t do with the help of the Holy Spirit. That needs to be your attitude.
Transform Every Trial Into an Upgrade
Instead of facing challenges alone – and some of you are very proud of your “lone wolf” mentality – remember that you’re never actually alone if you’ve accepted Christ. The Holy Spirit and Jesus are abiding in you right now.
When the next trial hits your business, break the habit of thinking “Oh no, just when things were going well, this happens.” Instead, ask these powerful questions:
- “Lord, what are we doing about this?”
- “What are you upgrading in me?”
- “What do you want to be for me in this challenge?”
- “What do you want to be for me in this challenge that you couldn’t be without it?”
Every single trial is an upgrade, a promise, an empowerment, enlightenment, and wisdom that takes you to the next level. What if you had that mindset? What if you started going through this kind of transformational content?
