Today I posted to my social media sites to hit me with your Internet Marketing Questions and I would pick one and blog about it. This question comes from Lisa Smith Hogan from facebook. You can connect with me on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/rayhigdon
What’s the best tool to use for “name branding”? How do we get our name out into the market. The company that I am working for has been in business for 6 years. People are still unaware of who we are. I need “company awareness”. This is also a new role for me as part of their business development team.
So this question is on branding a company. This is the question that PR and advertising sales people drool over because it is so hard to determine a return and can be so lucrative for selling advertising to. I thought it would be easier discussed on a video so here is the video:

Hi Ray, watched your video and just wanted to bring to your attention that there are technolgy companies out there like LocalAdlink that use 1.geo, 2.word and 3.push technology that drives your {company}site to the top of subject searches in your area. For example let’s say you are a plumber in Seattle and you are a LocalAdlink customer and someone googles plumber. This technolgy first identifies your company as being one in the area the searcher is googling from or looking to do business in. The word technology actually reads what the searcher is looking for and then can t push your company to the top of the search. Companies that use this technology have high identification marks through there name recognition with millions of hits to their site that is then tied into your company name on the search engine criteria. Another example would be let’s say you are a photographer in Cape Coral and someone is online in Cape Coral {or whatever area code you choose to market your company in} and they are reading an article from the new York Times on photography. This technolgy identifies what you are reading through word technology {actually reading what the searcher is reading ie. interested in} and then identifies your company as a photographer in their {searchers} market place and pushes your site to the top of the google ads! Anyhow thought this might have been another goodanswer to your questionaire’s question.
Have a good one and I enjoy following you around online. Look forward to meeting you one day soon!

Ray, what an excellent blog! Thank you for your input. Your information was informative, educational and will be very beneficial to me. I worked as a Scheduling/Office Coordinator within the same industry I am in now for 10 years and suddenly found that my position was no longer needed. I came home, put together my resume which I had not done since I moved to Florida 20 years ago, posted it on Yahoo Hot Jobs and had a response within 30 minutes. The new company is relying heavily on me to help them develop their business. We bounce ideas of each other every day. What can we do? Where can we best use our money to generate business? It’s a constant development process. Your answers will help me take a step in the right direction. Although, I had always wanted to step into more of a business development position, the opportunity did not present itself until. I want to be the best I can be. Thanks for putting me on the path.

Ray,
Good stuff! I have found in my internet advertising that I do, is people will give you there information in return for a special report of some kind. That way it puts them in a database which is huge for when they are ready to buy or sell.
Keep the good advice coming!
