MLM Prospecting and the “Research” Objection

I’ve heard multiple answers to this type of question. I’ll tell you my answer. First, let me tell you a story. When I was actively building a network marketing business I would travel around to the different teams. I went up to Toronto one year and I was doing a presentation there. One of my friends who was in the team brings me over his prospect. He says to me, “Hey Ray, this guy says he wants to do his research. What do you think about that Ray?”

In the below video I shared my non-conventional answer that got that rep to sign up on the spot.

A lot of times people throw out that research thing just to see how you react. If you’re defensive,and tell them, “Oh, you don’t need to do the research.” If you’re defensive I’m going to say that 99.9% of the time they will not sign up. Sometimes when you give people the green light to do what they need to do and you don’t have to sign them up on the spot they feel that energy and end up joining.
