How Successful People Think

From working with all types of people, successful, non-successful, experienced, rookies, professionals and non-professionals, it really is obvious that your thoughts are the most important ingredient for living a happy life. This post is on how successful people think.
Success Thinking or Failure Thinking?
Why do some people attend an event and get amazing things out of it and others don’t? Here’s what I KNOW to be true..
You get what you look for.
“Most people they have faith in non serving beliefs, so you have to be very careful because that really is a programming of what you were thinking about, you are bringing about. So if you have faith that something isn’t going to happen or isn’t going to go well, there’s a very high chance you’re going to prove yourself right. Be very careful of what you carry faith in.” – From Chapter 12 of my upcoming, soon to be published book
Self-Improvement Will Help You Learn How Successful People Think

Here are some of my favorite successful thinking quotes from John Maxwell:
“Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.”
“Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.”
“The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That’s the day we truly grow up.”
“Talent is a gift, but character is a choice.”
“… if you don’t have peace, it isn’t because someone took it from you; you gave it away. You cannot always control what happens to you, but you can control what happens in you.”
“Life doesn’t do anything to you. It only reveals your spirit.”
“Your success stops where your character stops. You can never rise above the limitations of your character.”
OK, there’s your daily dose of the man John Maxwell, now back to how successful people think..
Zalucki: Thinkers Think, Provers Prove
In perhaps the most epic mindset CD of all time, Profile of a Champion by George Zalucki, George says, The thinker thinks, the prover proves. What this means is you are committed to faith, one way or the other. You either have faith that something is NOT going to meet your expectations and guess what, you will prove it right OR you can think positively.
Why do people come into a network marketing company and crush it while others struggle? Is it really that the crusher has some amazing methods or scripts? From hundreds of calls and three way calls, I can tell you without a doubt, NO, like Jeff Olson says, it is NOT the “How-To” but how you do the how-to. What are you THINKING and EXPECTING when you are taking action? IF you are lacking successful thoughts, the suspension of disbelief and you only think “This too shall fail”, IT WILL! Today, believe that it is at least POSSIBLE for you to have success, for YOU to turn your life around and for YOU to have success wherever you are, with whatever you are doing. Change your thoughts, change your results.
Understand that it is VERY natural to get in negative funks from time to time. Working on yourself and your mindset daily is so critical. What if you just read ONE chapter per day on a good inspirational or mindset book? The average non-fiction has 12 chapters, in one year you would finish almost 30 books. I suggest to you that you are unable to remain the same person you are if you read 30 mindset related books per year, anyone can read one chapter a day, and, it would change your life.

This is a great post Ray. The MORPHING process is a process. I have watched my mind and my mindset change. Habits are hard to change and the way we have spoken to ourselves over years is hard wired. Patience with the process is very important. I look in the mirror and I still think of myself as FAT but I have been working diligently at the task despite the seeming lack of results only because I KNOW the fact that if I eat healthy choices, exercise, drink water and rest, my body WILL CHANGE. So several months later, I look in the mirror and still do not like what I see, BUT my before pictures show me where I have been, and where I am today is PROGRESS! So, even though I am not where I want to be, I know I am on my way and the foundation I am creating now, is already speeding up because each tiny success creates an exponential leap to the next. I think the same can be said for applying the daily steps that create a successful business. As usual, you ROCK!

The words you speak in faith clothed you. Therefore, if you expect to be clothed with a luxurious you, speak those thing that are not as though they were and believe. Likewise, if you speak the negative you will be clothed negatively. Thanks Ray good post.

Nice post Ray.
The brain has a great way of thinking of solutions to problems, if you give it a chance.
Being negative doesn’t help anyone so change your mindset and think of why you CAN, not why you can’t.

Good ol John Maxwell, his live events are amazing. When I was 19 I started reading a book a week, and if I’m honest…Everything I have and the way I think today is a direct result of the hundreds of books I read back then.
To this day, I still read a book a week. Except I have more ADD and have to read 2 to 3 at a time
What book are you reading Ray? Everybody else chime in to…

Well said, Ray! You hit the nail on the head for so many people. I think one of the biggest things that negative or failure type thinking people is being able to be self aware enough to realize and STOP that type of thinking! It took me years and years to train myself that positive reinforcement wasn’t just some b.s. from a Dennis Waitley “cassette” I purchased 25 years ago!!! Thanks for posting.

Awesome post, Ray! Always enjoy your value and insights!
Mindset is so very important in this business…..sometimes it is hard to stay focused, but the end goal is what keeps me going
Being patient can be the hardest thing, but in the long haul it is what keeps one from being addicted to the outcome……
Power tips, Ray!
Thank you,
Joan

Wow, Thanks Ray.
I'm reading "Think & Grow Rich, but I gotta admit. It's boring, to an extent. My B-day is coming up and I still have nothing to show for it. But one thing is I'm going to start reading books by Zig Ziglar and John Maxwell. I need to have faith that I will succeed, because my father whom I went to visit at the cemetary today fought for me, day and night & now it's my turn. Or should I say OUR turn.

Great Post Ray,
I have to totally agree with the reading books on successful people and personal development. I am a firm believer that you will become what you read in 5 years. That quote is so true, I can contest to it.

Profile of a Champion by George Zalucki is a amazing cd. I still to this day listen to it before heading out on my day to sell real estate. I think that without a daily audio like that I would not be very successful in real estate.

Abso lutely love having the audio Ray, hearing your voice just seems to make it all possible. Like this post, grateful for the Maxwell quotes, today was a day I really needed them. You and Jessica are such an inspiration. I know there's a lot I still need to learn…like how to engage. People ask me all the time "why did you choose this business", all I can say is I love it. I want to be a part of engaging with people and helping them change their quality of life, as I change my own. God gave me an opportunity, and I'm going with it. It's very difficult some days, but I'm going for it! Great post, and thank you!

I once read a story of a son who complained to his father that he is poor.
His father said to him,” Son you are poor not because you have no money, you are poor because your thinking is poor and you have no vision”.
The Bible says, ” As a man thinketh,so is he”
I am reading both the “Bible” and “Think and Grow Rich” and what a blessing it is to posses a copy of each!

Hi Ray, just read your post and your internal beliefs definitely decide your outcome in life. Your last paragraphs about reading books is GOLD. If people take one thing away from your article, let it be that they read more.
