SWFL Internet Marketer consults a Naples Video Company and gives them 3 marketing tips

Today I had the pleasure or meeting with Naples Video Company owners, John and Sue Haberkorn. John and Sue Haberkorn are awesome, awesome people that I am so glad to have met and enjoyed our lunch today. John and Sue do high quality Naples video product for websites and companies and I can tell you that their work is awesome! On the spot I decided to use their services for an upcoming SWFL free marketing event I am doing on July 8th. As with anyone I meet with, I also love helping and providing value and so I shared some ideas with the Naples video company owners on how they can possibly increase profits. Here are some of those tips that may also give you some ideas!

1. Focus on creation of content to give yourself options. Let’s face it, no one wants to go on working forever. When you create reusable, preferably digital content (perfect for a Naples video company) then it gives you options. You can create a continuity program for it and set it on auto-pilot or you can create products out of the content to sell on Ebay or other types of websites.
2. As most small business owners are clueless about marketing and are like meat in the water to hundreds of advertising salespeople, they get numb to empty promises and get frustrated on what to believe and what is real. Instead of educating a small business owner that they should be using video (which they should), create videos or blogs that would intercept traffic they could be getting to show then how it is done. If you are a marketing, advertising company, show them that you use your own product or ideas, then show them your own results rather than just your theories of how many people watch TV, attend chambers, listen to the the radio, read the newspaper, etc.
3. Be selective in your clients. The clients that pay the least and demand the highest workload are usually not worth the money! Be happy with every client you CHOOSE to work with. That is right, don’t just take anyone because they will pay you, be selective and be specific on what their expectations are. A bad client COST you time and money, they don’t make you a dime.

Southwest Florida Marketer shares 3 reasons why you should be blogging

As a southwest Florida marketer I get to talk to a wide range of people with very different marketing questions. I talk to affiliate marketers, which are the guys selling other people’s products online, social media experts, which are typically (but not always) the people that work to get PR and attention and sometimes find ways to make money at it and small business owners that are typically the last ones to know what really works in the marketing world and are either getting the marketshare of the business or are currently struggling. Here are 3 reasons why all three types should be blogging.

1) Search engines love blogs. Search engines love freshly updated content and blogs create an easy way to do this. Now, some affiliate marketers only do PPC and media buys so they may not have a use for blogs but ALL small business owners and social media people should be using blogs to their advantage. For you small business owners, you can easily get traffic on your local terms. For example, if you are selling Naples real estate, blogging about Naples real estate everyday would get the search engines to really, really like you. For the social media experts, you don’t want all of your content owned by someone else do you? You want to create some sort of following that is owned and operated by you right? I will tell you why in the last tip.

2) Blogging is free. I am not sure if there is a more powerful FREE tool other than blogging that can get you traffic, leads and possibly money. Article marketing is good but you are limited to how many and how fast they can be published and you cannot control how much advertising dollars you make with article marketing.

3) You can make money from blogging! There are several ways to do this. Here are some ideas:
- If you are getting a lot of traffic, you can charge for someone to have a banner on your site.
- You can install Google’s adsense, these are the google pay per click ads and if someone clicks them, you get paid (not as lucrative as they once were)
- You can become an affiliate of someone else’s product, let them fulfill the sale and you get a commission. (I believe this is the most powerful way, and it is typically free to be an affiliate for someone)

As a father of two awesome boys, this video almost made me sick. I am very, very thankful that I already use green cleaning supplies but I think this video is a MUST SEE for all your parents out there that think you are doing your child a favor by using the store bought stuff. I personally use a green cleaning product where I know all of the green cleaning chemicals so I am covered but I really wonder how many parents are exactly like how they describe in this video. After this video, ignorance is no longer an excuse!

Southwest Florida Marketer Ray Higdon here with a cool tip for you to check to see “just how good” google sees your website. There are several factors that lead to having a good pagerank but first, what is pagerank?

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm, named after Larry Page, used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references.

So pagerank looks to see what other sites link to yours and you can test yours for free at this page http://www.top25web.com/pagerank.php. Keep in mind that simple link swapping (you give someone a link on your site in exchange for a link on their site) may not increase your pagerank.

Links from high pageranks pages can really help your pagerank, when you do a press release, make sure to give your full link as news sources are good backlinks to have.

Southwest Florida Coach answers the question: How do I get my partner to buy into my ideas?

As a Southwest Florida Coach I get to talk and help a lot of people from anything to marketing questions to mental barriers that are holding them back from achieving their dreams. Today’s question came from someone who is struggling with trying to get their partner to buy into their ideas. So how do you get your partner to buy into your ideas?

First of all, know that anytime you give away your power to someone or something you cannot control, you typically lose. You do not HAVE to have buy-in from your partner to be successful and if you are using that as an excuse for not achieving your dreams, then that is a problem. Also know there are stories after stories about spouses or partners who did not have buy-in from their partners that achieved massive success. You are in control of your future. Also consider the possibility that your partner wants to see how dedicated you are to your ideas, especially if you have had a history of pitching a lot of new ideas. Remember, no one can control your success, only you can!

Case Study: Naples Makeup Artist and Naples Internet Marketing

The other day I had the pleasure of talking with one of my clients, Jessica Perretti, who is a local Naples makeup artist. She has done numerous fashion shows, photo shoots and even film! Jessica has been trained by MAC professionals and has done numerous other trainings in spas and hair salons. Until recently, her business had been suffering but thanks to internet marketing she is no longer struggling and has booked three shoots in the last week!

“Until recently I had no idea about Naples internet marketing, my idea of marketing was either strictly word of mouth and networking or having to pay an arm and a leg for print adds and radio spots. I found that local Naples Internet Marketing is not only the most effective way to market your business, but it is also low cost and reaches out to your target demographic. You can also control who you are marketing to, when and where your information goes and EXACTLY how much you want to spend. NO ONE uses a phone book, think about it!”

I asked Jessica how Internet marketing has helped her personally, her response: “I have so much business it’s crazy! I never thought this would work like it did.”

So what did I do to make Jessica so happy? A couple easy steps. First of all I automated Twitter for her. Clients hire me to do this or you can do this yourself (for the most part) by using this automate twitter system. In 14 days she had almost 500 followers that were targeted to the makeup industry.

I then had her create a free blog, you can see how do to do this by watching this free video I created on business online advertising. I told her to go after terms around makeup that I researched for her using this keyword research tool. Right now she is hammering away at the Naples Makeup Artist keyword phrase and she will dominate that phrase within 60 days.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read each others’ updates, known as tweets. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications.

Don’t worry Fort Myers Twitter Newbie, you don’t have to understand the technical mumbo jumbo, all you have to know is it is a cool way to send out coupons, test cool promotions, build a following and it is all for free! Isn’t Free Fun?!?

3 Reasons Fort Myers small business owners should be using Twitter:
1) In this economy you have probably cut your marketing and advertising budget unless you were getting a return on investment which, very few fort myers small business owners actually do unless they understand Internet Marketing. Twitter is Free and is getting a TON of press around southwest Florida and the nation. Heck, I have seen several Fort Myers Twitter people get free press just because they had and advertised their twitter account! Awesome!

2) You have to get creative to get people to your area of business. As the Southwest Florida Twitter guy and having around 5,000 people following me on my twitter, I use it to test out different websites, promotions, free giveaways, etc. Twitter will give you that arena to play around in as well at no cost. Having low-no cost arenas to play with in your advertising is awesome! Instead of running a $2,000 TV promo that you HOPE works, see if it works on Twitter first then run it on TV!

3) This is the perfect time to be building your twitter account as a small business owner. We experienced the Oprah effect a few months back where 300,000 new mainstream people came on in 24 hours due to Oprah announcing it on her show. Twitter is now the number 3 most trafficked site on the web and is only growing. Build your followers and Twitter now and you will be in good shape before your competition does!

Naples Life Coach shares how to be present and live a more powerful life

As a Naples Life Coach I know that one of the most powerful things we can all do as humans is to listen more. Last night I had the extreme pleasure of watching my Mom finish her Tampa landmark forum. I am so proud of her and so glad I pushed you to go and so is she. She is more free than I have ever seen her be and she is working on giving up all her woe is me stories and her stories about those around her. The Tampa landmark forum was full of people who have changed their life. You see, ALL people create stories and labels for those around us. We then become addicted to our stories and expectations of them. This means we lose who they really are and are addicted to what we have created for them to be. This is the little voice in our head predicting how they are going to act and what they are going to do rather than live in the present of what actually is happening. When you continue to build these stories about those around us, then meet new people and quickly try to figure out who they are like so we can start living in the present with them too, well, we start to live a certainly tedious and predictable life. Strip away those stories, stop your expectations, stop reliving the same relationship over and over and over and start opening to the possibility of newness and presence. Listen. Listen by shutting up those voices in your head that are telling you all the other mindless garbage that is everything BUT living in the present.

Southwest Florida Twitter guy gives you 2 free tips for evaluating your website

Southwest Florida twitter guy here and today I am going to talk about how to make your website better by having it checked by the pros! And for Free! This is an easy test to see how well you are doing and also lead you toward the things that will make your website better.

Step 1 - Check your websites google page rank. You can do that here -http://www.top25web.com/pagerank.php. This site will tell you on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best) what Google thinks of your site. Now, just because you rank low doesn’t mean you will not be shown, it just means you have room for improvement!

Step 2 - Check out the Google webmaster tools here - https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/. This will get your site verified with Google, you can then submit a sitemap (if you don’t know what a sitemap is, just read the help files)

The above two steps should take you at maximum 20 minutes but it will give you a great idea of what it will take to get your site ranked better!
